It's Official! Canada to Host 2017 Invictus Games

More than 600 wounded warriors from 16 countries will compete in Toronto in September 2017

On March 16th, Prince Harry announced that the 2017 Invictus Games has been awarded to Toronto, Canada! The third Invictus Games, to be held in September 2017, will be the largest Games yet, with more than 600 military competitors from 16 nations competing in 12 sports.

Prince Harry made the announcement, via video, with just over 50 days to go until the 2016 Invictus Games, which will be held in Orlando, Florida, from May 8th to 12th. The Prince also announced that he will visit Toronto in May 2016, to officially launch the 2017 Invictus Games.

"I always hoped the Invictus story would continue after the London Games," said Prince Harry, who founded the Invictus Games in 2014. "And having seen so many new people benefit from their journey to Orlando this year, I definitely did not want it to end here. So today, I am absolutely delighted to announce that the Invictus legacy will continue when Toronto hosts the third Invictus Games."

The Invictus Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate broader awareness of the physical and psychological injuries sustained by our ill and injured service members and veterans.

Prince Harry's full announcement and more information about the 2017 Invictus Games can be found on the official IG17 website: www.invictusgames2017.com

Community comes together to support Canadian Veteran

On March 10th 2016, the Toronto community came together to show their support for a local Canadian veteran.

In January 2016, Canadian veteran and co-founder of the Treble Victor Group, Mark Walden, was diagnosed with acute leukemia and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. Once these steps are complete, Mark will need a bone marrow transfer to conclude his treatment.

The Treble Victor Group, with support from True Patriot Love, partnered withMedcan to run a one-day clinic to conduct a swab test to identify bone marrow matches of people aged between 18 and 35.

The support was incredible! Over 80people from the community participated in the drive - a wonderful show of support for a local Canadian hero.
