Bell TPL Fund 2016: Have You Applied Yet?
The application window for the 2016 Bell TPL Fund is OPEN until August 26, 5:00 pm EST. Now in its fourth year, the Bell TPL Fund has provided more than 45 grants to organizations across the country supporting the mental health and wellbeing of serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, veterans and their families. Partnering with Military Family Resource Centres and other community organizations, Bell TPL supported projects are helping improve access to mental health care and services. Funded projects include family mental health counselling, youth mental health workshops, suicide prevention education and service dog assistance and equine therapy for PTSD.
Registered Canadian charities are eligible to apply for funding, and grants range between $5,000 and $25,000. Follow the link below to learn more about the Fund guidelines, and to see a list of past grant recipients.

TPL Tribute Dinner named one of BizBash’s 2016 Top 100 Events in Toronto!
The True Patriot Love Foundation is proud to announce that our Toronto Tribute Dinner, Presented by Bell, has been named one of BizBash’s Top 100 Events in Toronto for 2016.
Since the inaugural Toronto Tribute Dinner in 2009, True Patriot Love has been working diligently to raise critical funds and awareness for Canada’s military members, veterans and their families. Partnering with Presenting Sponsor Bell since 2010, this event has raised over $15 million from corporate and community leaders from Toronto and across Canada.
In addition to being a successful fundraiser, the True Patriot Love Toronto Tribute Dinner continues to celebrate those who have sacrificed so much for our safety and freedom in this country. We are proud to give Canadians a platform to show their support and gratitude for the people behind our Canadian Armed Forces.

Strongest Families Institute: Removing Barriers for Children from Military Families
The Strongest Families Institute leverages the benefits of technology to offer research based approaches to help families with children living with anxiety and depression. As a grant recipient of $25,000 from the Bell TPL Fund 2015, Strongest Families has been able to reach out to military families in Atlantic Canada to provide support for families by teaching skills through a proven distance coaching approach using the telephone and internet. Service delivery in the comfort and privacy of home contributes to a 89% success rate in overcoming child/youth anxiety with distance coaching. With it’s program delivery, Strongest Families is family centered care designed to help children and youth. Positive feedback from families, a low dropout rate and high quality, efficient care is encouraging and speaks to the strong team delivering the program. Origami Owl Custom Jewelry Supports TPL
Based in Arizona and with it’s expansion to Canada in Spring 2015, Origami Owl, a custom jewelry company known for their Living Lockets with over 300 employees and more than 40,000 independent sales consultants, in the U.S. and Canada has remained true to it’s mission to be a Force for Good. True Patriot Love is honoured to be supported with a generous donation from Origami Owl which will contribute towards strengthening Canadian military families. At age 14, Bella Weems, founded Origami Owl by harnessing her passion for jewelry and a need to earn enough money to buy a car at age 16. In 2010, every weekend Bella would sell her lockets at home parties and boutiques until she was able to upgrade to a mall kiosk and today, operating out of two 80,000 square foot buildings, Bella’s resiliency and entrepreneurial spirit have allowed Origami Owl to grow and contribute to local charities through a generous donation of funds and time. Origami Owl also has a Cause charm collection which is currently comprised of 17 cause charms and growing. Origami Owl Designers tell stories and sell this unique line of jewelry at in-home parties called Jewelry Bars®.

TPL Expedition Series 2017
The True Patriot Love Expedition Series is coming home in 2017 to honour Canada’s sesquicentennial. True Patriot Love has planned explorations in three different remote locations of our great country.
Taking place in Summer 2017, the 4thoffering of the TPL Expedition will challenge a total of 30 ill and injured soldiers, 60 Canadian business leaders, and a team of guides and experts to take on some of the most unique adventures from coast to coast.
